Do not ask me why; because I haven't
actually found a good reason, but I've decided to install John Lewis
coreboot on my slackware running chromebook.
The process is fairly simple (scary as
it could brick your device), and smooth... however, immediately
everything broke on the software level.
I
tried 2 times to fix the boot sequence of my gpt formated drive with
no luck.... so without hesitation I formated and installed slackware
14.0 from a bootable usb drive.. and then realized I had a customized
3.4 kernel with all drivers provided by chromeOS.. now I had a 3.2
something I think with no trackpad and some other hardware support …
nothing that a quick update/upgrade didn't fix.
